An ingenious speach (Μία ευφυής ομιλία}

Δανείζομαι το παρακάτω κείμενο από το blog του Καβαλιώτη Γ. Καρατσιουμπάνη:

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile

‘Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses. When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, ‘What a good opportunity to have a bath!’
He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.
When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished.
An Israeli had stolen them.’
The Israeli representative jumped up furiously and shouted, ‘What are you talking about? The Israelis weren’t there then.’
The Palestinian representative smiled and said:
‘And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.’

Ο Παλαιστίνιος αντιπρόσωπος στη Συνέλευση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών παίρνει τον λόγο:
"Πριν ξεκινήσω την ομιλία μου, θέλω να σας πω κάτι για τον Μωυσή. Όταν χτύπησε τον βράχο και αναβλήθηκε νερό, σκέφτηκε, "Τι καλή ευκαιρία να κάνω ένα μπάνιο!". Έβγαλε τα ρούχα του, τα άφησε πλάι πάνω στον βράχο και μπήκε στο νερό. Όταν βγήκε και θέλησε να ντυθεί, τα ρούχα του είχαν εξαφανιστεί. Ένας Ισραηλινός τα είχε κλέψει."
Ο Ισραηλινός αντιπρόσωπος πετάχτηκε εκνευρισμένος και είπε, "Τι λες; Οι Ισραηλινοί δεν ήταν τότε εκεί."
Ο Παλαιστίνιος αντιπρόσωπος χαμογέλασε και είπε:
"Και τώρα που το ξεκαθαρίσαμε αυτό, θα αρχίσω την ομιλία μου."
